  10. What is StartOnce?
  11.  
  12. This utility helps to keep control of your startup items. It launches any items that are put into a “StartOnce Items” folder just once a day.

When you start your Mac for the first time on any given day, StartOnce will launch the items in the ‘StartOnce Items’ folder. If you restart your Mac on the same day, these items will be skipped. However, you can over-ride this and force the items in the ‘StartOnce Items’ folder to be run by holding down the command key while StartOnce runs.

  16. This program will run on Colour and Black and White Macs, but requires System 7 to run.

Installation is easy. When you run StartOnce for the very first time it will create a folder called ‘StartOnce Items’ in your System Folder.  Make aliases to any applications, scripts or documents that you want run once a day and move them to this folder. Make an alias to StartOnce and place it in your ‘Startup Items’ folder.

  22. When you start your Mac StartOnce will be run. If your Mac is being started for the first time that day then the items in the ‘StartOnce Items’ folder will be launched. On subsequent restarts they will be skipped.

  24. Share-ware fee

This program is share-ware, and is subject to the usual terms and conditions. It can be freely distributed, as long as it is distributed with all its original documentation, and is not redistributed in modified form. The author does not bear any responsibility if anything goes wrong as a result of running this program.

You may try the program out for 30 days, but after that you must register the program within another 30 days. The registration fee is £5 (UK) or 10$ (US). Please send cash if possible. I can only accept cheques if they are made out in Pounds and drawn on a UK bank (for example, International Money orders).
